Kindergarten Academy 2025-2026 July 29-August 1 8AM-11:30AM Open to all incoming Kindergarten Students who are registered. Students will report to their school. Parent orientation will be held at each elementary school 8:30AM July 30th. Breakfast and Lunch will be served. Transportation is available, contact your school to sign up for bus pickup. Parent drop off begins at 7:40AM/Pickup is at 11:30AM

McBrayer Elementary School PTO will conduct an election for the SBDM Council on Monday, September 16, 2024. Two parent representatives will be chosen for the 2024-2025 school year. Voting will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 5-6:30 p.m. Any parent of a child currently enrolled may vote to elect the parent council members. A parent council member shall be a parent, stepparent, foster parent, or legal guardian of a student attending the school during the council member’s term of office. A parent is ineligible if they are an employee or a relative of an employee (father, mother, brother, sister, husband, wife, son, daughter, aunt, uncle, son-in-law and daughter-in-law) of that school or for the district office, or a local school board member or the spouse of a school board member.

TRANSPORTATION PRESS RELEASE As the Rowan County Board of Education begins the 2024-25 school year, we wanted to remind parents of the transportation changes for the year that were outlined in the letter sent home in April. 1. Elementary students will only be transported to the school in their attendance zone. Students who have been approved to attend a school out of district must provide their own transportation. 2. Students that require special transportation will be transported, however, we will not be providing transportation to siblings out of district on these buses. Siblings will be required to attend their home school, unless parents want to provide transportation and Rodburn Elementary has accepted them. 3. Daycares - Students will only be transported to and from daycares if they live in or have been approved to attend the school in the attendance zones assigned to those daycares. See below. a. McBrayer Elementary will host a Kindergarten Academy for students enrolled for the 2024-2025 school year. Students and families can meet school staff, learn about McBrayer’s routines/procedures, and practice readiness skills before the first day of school. All kindergarteners are encouraged to attend! Location: McBrayer Elementary School Date: Tuesday, July 30, 2024-Friday, August 2, 2024 Time: 8:00-11:30 am each day Important Information: Doors will open beginning at 7:30 am each morning. If your child will be picked up in the afternoons, you will need to walk your child in on the first day of the academy. You will need to pick up a car tag. Parent pickup is at 11:30 am, bus delivery will begin at 11:30 am. Breakfast will be served each day from 7:40-8:00. Parent Orientation: McBrayer will host a parent orientation meeting on Wednesday, July 31st at 8:30 am in the library. Kindergarteners will be “signing” with MES on Friday, August 2nd. More information will follow regarding this. Your child will travel to each kindergarten classroom throughout the week. Busing is available.
