Kindergarten Academy 2025-2026

8AM-11:30AM
Open to all incoming Kindergarten Students who are registered. Students will report to their school.
Parent orientation will be held at each elementary school 8:30AM July 30th.
Breakfast and Lunch will be served.
Transportation is available, contact your school to sign up for bus pickup.
Parent drop off begins at 7:40AM/Pickup is at 11:30AM

Rowan County Schools is happy to present our 1st annual SCIENCE FAIR open to all ELEMENTARY STUDENTS grades kindergarten through fifth! Deadline to sign up is this Friday, March 21, 2025. Due to the forecast for hazardous conditions during tomorrow morning's commute, Rowan County Schools will be closed for a snow day on Tuesday February 11th.

Quick reminder about our Winter Concert on December 12 at 6:00 PM in the CES Gym. Doors open at 5:40 PM. Please drop your child off in their classroom before the performance. Choir students should be in the gym by 5:45 PM. Festive clothing is encouraged, and Santa will be in the library for photos afterward. See you there!


Fall parent-teacher conferences are set for Thursday, November 7th from 4:00-6:30 P.M. Please call the school at 606-784-5792 to schedule a conference. Additionally, any parent who attends a Title 1 meeting in the library with Ms. White will be entered in a prize drawing!


Help us honor our Veterans this Veterans Day! Please send us your photos of your family Veterans by November 1st. Include their military branch and your relation. Send them to your child's teacher or email maria.white@rowan.kyschools.us


Clearfield Elementary is organizing a Minority Parent election for the 24-25 school year Site-Based Decision Making (SBDM) Council parent members to ensure a smooth and fair process. With over 8% minority enrollment this school year, Clearfield Elementary can have 1 minority parent representative and 1 minority teacher representative. Written nominations should be turned into the principal of the school on or before September 20th, 2024. The election will take place in person on September 25th, 2024, from 7:00-8:00 a.m. and 4:30-6:00 p.m. in the Clearfield Elementary Library. As this process will not be conducted electronically, it is important for parents and guardians of Clearfield Elementary students to plan accordingly for these dates. Please note that absentee ballots will not be permitted.

TRANSPORTATION PRESS RELEASE
As the Rowan County Board of Education begins the 2024-25 school year, we wanted to remind parents of the transportation changes for the year that were outlined in the letter sent home in April.
1. Elementary students will only be transported to the school in their attendance zone. Students who have been approved to attend a school out of district must provide their own transportation.
2. Students that require special transportation will be transported, however, we will not be providing transportation to siblings out of district on these buses. Siblings will be required to attend their home school, unless parents want to provide transportation and Rodburn Elementary has accepted them.
3. Daycares - Students will only be transported to and from daycares if they live in or have been approved to attend the school in the attendance zones assigned to those daycares. See below.
