Superintendent's Msg

Pride is an integral element in the Rowan County School System.  Speaking for our students, faculty and staff, we take great pride in our school system.  Made up of four elementary schools, one centralized preschool center, a middle school and a high school, our school district is “home” to over 3,000 students.  Each of our schools has been fully accredited by AdvancEd, one of the most prestigious educational accreditation organizations in the nation.  Our district was only the seventh school district in the Commonwealth of Kentucky to earn full district accreditation from AdvancEd, an honor which our district continues to hold.

Students who have graduated from the Rowan County School System are working as successful citizens of their community, the Commonwealth, the nation and the world.  The faculty and staff of the Rowan County School System work together every day to ensure that our students are college and career ready.

Thanks to partnerships that have been developed with community individuals, businesses and organizations, including Morehead State University and Maysville Community and Technical College, our students have the opportunity to experience a wide variety of enrichment activities that enhance the curriculum and give our students real-world experiences.  With the dual-credit program, some of our high school students are graduating from high school ready to begin their college careers as sophomores or juniors.

The most important partnership in our students’ education is one that is developed between the parents and the schools.  Children thrive and succeed educationally and emotionally when their parents are actively involved.  When we work together, we shape the future of our community, our Commonwealth, our nation and our world.
