When Rowan County Preschool Center director Shirley Anderson decided to retire, everyone knew it would be a difficult task to find someone to fill her shoes. After a thorough interview process, Katy Ingles was selected to become the new director of the Rowan County Preschool Center.
To begin the search process for a new RCPC director, Supt. Maxey assembled a committee made up of preschool staff members and one administrator from Rowan County Schools Central Office. This committee took on the task of developing criteria, writing questions, and conducting interviews for the preschool center director position.
“The committee members all felt that Katy Ingles would be the best person for the position,” said Supt. Maxey. “I think she is a great fit for the preschool and I believe that the staff members will enjoy working with her.”
Katy Ingles is moving into her 19th year of working in education, all in early childhood and primary education. She is currently a teacher at the Rowan County Preschool Center and holds Bachelor’s, Master’s Degrees, a Rank I and Education Specialist all from Morehead State University. She and her husband, Jason, have a daughter, Allyson, and a son, Jayson, both of whom will be students at Rowan County Senior High School this fall.
“I am honored to be selected as the preschool director at Rowan County Preschool Center. We have an outstanding program and I am excited to continue our success,” said Mrs. Ingles. “My passion is early childhood education. I love the innocence, the excitement and the wonder that young children possess. We have the best staff, students and families and I know that when we work together, we will instill in these young students a lifelong love of learning.”
