Cynthia Estep


Teacher/Staff Contact:
I graduated from Rowan County High.
Attended Morehead State and received my Bachelors Degree In 1991 in education/special education K-12,
I received my Masters degree from  Morehead State in 2000 in special education.

I Have been teaching for 20 years.
I have 3 children, two girls and one boy.
I also have six grandchildren, four girls and two boys.
I was raised in Rowan County and think there is no better school system in the country.  Rowan County also is one of the safest places to live. A great place to raise a family!
A  good sense of humor is essential to having a full life!

Rowan County Mission Statement:


The mission of the staff and community of Rowan County Senior High School is to provide all students with knowledge to be lifelong learners, the skills and training to be productive members of the workforce, and the understanding and awareness to be responsible citizens capable of contributing in a positive way to the community in which they live. The successful accomplishment of these provisions will be evident in the level of academic performance, honors attained and awards received, and the successful transition into adult life.

Required Materials:

Ruler and glue stick

Notebook

Paper

Pencils and highlighter

Markers or colored pencils

2 poster boards (any color)

 

Grading Policy:
Grades will be based on Learning Target summative evaluations, such as but not limited to: chapter/unit tests. Summative evaluations will be admistered as written, oral or online format.
 
Formative evaluations such as but not limited to:pre-tests, exit slips, minute note taking, oral discussion/questioning, group assignments, and journaling.
The Formative Assessment will be used to determine acquisition of content taught and identifying areas of academic need.
 
A conference with parent will be requested with students who refuse to participate on class assignments and/or not making progress toward their goals. Interventions will be discussed at this time that can assist the students in mastering their academic goals.
 
Grading Scale:
100-90 A
89-80 B
79- 70 C
69-60 D
59 and below Failing
 


Class Expectations/Rules:
1. Be in seat and have needed materials before the tardy bell rings
2. Do get permission from teacher to talk or be out of seat
3. Electronics will not be used or in sight during class unless you have special permission from teacher. (this includes Ipod, cell phones, etc.
4. Respect others

You will recieve one warning/reminder
The second you will be removed from class
