5th grade Solubility

I can explain what it means for a substance to be soluble (one substance that dissolves in another i.e. sugar dissolves in water)

I can explain the difference between a solute and a solvent  (one solute is the substance to be dissolved (sugar), a solvent is the oen doing the dissolving- (water) Example--Sugar is more soluble in water than sand.

I can explain the difference between a mixture and a solution.  (e.g. a solution has an even concentration, example--sugar/water), a mixture does not have an even concentration, example---sand in water)

I can explain how temperature can speed up or slow down the solubility rate of different substances (e.g. sugar will dissolve faster in warm water than in cold water)
