Rowan County Schools begins free Supper Program

Rowan County Schools will be participating in the Supper Program beginning Tuesday, September 4, 2018.  Supper will be offered free of charge to any child 18 and under on Mondays through Thursdays from 3:15 to 4:00 PM in the cafeteria of Rowan County Senior High School.  The Rowan County School District already participates in the Community Eligibility Provision, which is part of the National School Lunch Program, allowing the District to provide free breakfasts and lunches to all students.  The Supper Program will give students access to free suppers on Mondays through Thursdays that school is in session.

“The Supper Program will be handy for those students who are staying after school for after-school events, such as tutoring, team or club activities, or band practices,” said Glen Teager, Food Service Director for Rowan County Schools.  “The students need to remember that these meals cannot be taken on the buses.  They have to remain in the building while they take part in the Supper Program.”
